Before 1997
I Didn't do a lot of travelling before 1997. Most of it consisted of trips to England to visit my family. To read about those trips, visit the England page. While living in Alberta, we visited Edmonton many times. I've seen the planetarium, Provincial Museum, Botanical Gardens, and West Edmonton Mall.In 1992, I went on a trip with Girl Guides. We went to Jasper, Banff, & Calgary in Alberta, and Montana in the States. I don't have a lot of pictures from that trip, but here is one from the Olympic Statdium in Calgary.
In 1994, on our move to Winnipeg, we spent a few days in Drumheller, famous for it's desert like environment and many dino finds. Here's a picture of a Hoodoo, another thing the area is famous for. We visited the Royal Tyrell Museum, and a Reptile House.
In the summer of 1995, I went on a houseboat trip in Ontario with my Boy Scout troop from Alberta (even though I was living in Manitoba at the time). We hiked to old abandoned mines, but mostly lazed around the boat in our bikinis (there was only one guy, plus our male leader).
In 1996, my grandparents came out from England and we did a little tour around Ontario. To get there from Winnipeg, we drove through Chicago, and Detroit. Frist, visited Niagra Falls. The Horseshoe Falls, on the Canadian side, are the most spectacular in my opinion. The American side has a regular (but wide) waterfall. The frist day was just arriving in the area and having dinner. The next day, we visited the falls, and we even got to go behinde them. We also saw some nice gardens with a floral clock and other attractions. I didn't know they hard 2 Hard Rock Cafe's! I would have bought T-shirts and keychains!! The next day we visited Marineland. They had a small zoo, and rollcoasters & other rides, as well as an aquarium with Dolphin and Killer Whale shows. I even got to feed a dolphin! After that, we drove to my aunts house an hour or two away. The next day we went into Toronto, where we visited Fort York, had dinner at the CN Tower and saw a baseball game at the Skydome. The next day we drove around the area visited various small towns, including the town where Alexander Graham Bell's (inventor of the telephone) homestead is located. Here's a picture of the CN Tower and the top of the Skydome from Ft. York.
